Yes. Under Kentucky Senate Bill 63 (effective June 2025), qualified UTVs and ATVs can be registered as “Special Purpose Vehicles” for use on designated public roads. To be legal, your vehicle must pass a Sheriff’s inspection and be equipped with DOT-compliant safety gear, including amber front turn signals, rear turn signals, side mirrors, horn, and illuminated license plate holder. Lake Cumberland Motorsports offers professional installation of these street-legal kits to help you pass inspection.
The Honda Pioneer 1000 and 700 utilize a patented Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT), which uses steel gears instead of the rubber CVT drive belts found in most competitor brands (like Polaris or Can-Am). For farmers in Pulaski County towing heavy loads of hay or feed, the DCT is superior because it provides a direct mechanical connection that cannot slip or burn up, eliminating the “belt anxiety” common on steep hills or under heavy strain.
Yes. Modern CFMOTO vehicles, such as the UFORCE 1000 and ZFORCE series, use proven components like Bosch fuel injection and CVTech clutches. They are increasingly popular because they include premium features as standard equipment—such as 3,500lb winches, roofs, alloy wheels, and app connectivity—that are typically expensive upgrades on base-model Polaris Rangers. They offer a high value-to-reliability ratio backed by a standard factory warranty.
If you are a registered farmer in Kentucky using the vehicle exclusively for agricultural production (such as tilling, harvesting, or raising livestock), you may qualify for the Farm Machinery Sales Tax Exemption (KRS 139.480). You must present a valid Exemption Certificate (Form 51A158) at the time of purchase. For most brands we sell (Polaris, Honda, Kawasaki, CFMOTO), the “Break-In” service is critical and should be performed after the first 20 to 25 hours of operation (or roughly 100 miles). This service involves changing the engine oil to remove metal shavings from the manufacturing process and inspecting all differentials, belts, and fasteners. Skipping this service can void your factory warranty and shorten the life of your machine.
